Jeff Rutter, The Nightshift Orchestra leader, has been a major musical force in Chicago for 25 years. After graduating from Northern Illinois’s outstanding jazz program, Jeff has performed in several terrific bands, playing many concert halls and clubs. As an outstanding guitar player and singer, he was always in demand, performing with many of Chicago’s most skilled musicians and performers. Jeff is a marvelous musician, an excellent MC, and has a magnetic stage personality. He is warm and charming, with a terrific sense of humor. He has been on stage his entire adult life, which gives him tremendous skills in pacing your musical choices, and leading this incredibly talented group of performers since 1985.
Andrea Kleban is a very dynamic vocalist who has been performing with The Nightshift Orchestra since 1989. A background of singing in musicals, cruise ships, industrial shows, and a variety of bands, gives Andrea a fantastic breadth of experience. She can deliver a song with a delicate, sensitive touch, or powerfully perform a tune with incredible intensity. She possesses a dynamic stage presence, and adds tremendous enthusiasm to the Orchestra.
Joe developed his performing skills singing in R & B projects for the last 20 years. He has been on stage with some of the giants of the industry, and is always involved in various recording projects. Motown, 70’s Disco, 80’s & 90’s R & B, and Top 40’s are Joe’s strongest material. He has a magnetic smile, a loveable personality, and very energetic stage presence.
Sharon has been performing as one of the key vocalists for The Nightshift Orchestra since 1985. She began working professionally as a singer at age 17, and traveled throughout the USA in several large musical shows, including singing with Ronnie Milsap. She plays piano & guitar, and possesses a very warm, but powerful voice. A performer at heart, she is most at home, on stage, belting out the most popular songs of the last 50 years.

Every band needs a fiery drummer, and Bruce has been driving The Nightshift Orchestra since 1990. He has a huge list of credits from previous show bands and musical projects that have taken him across the country. Not only is he one of the best drummers in Chicago, he is an outstanding singer with an incredible vocal range, singing both lead and background vocals.
Every band needs an incredibly gifted keyboard player, and The Nightshift Orchestra has a gem in Scott Mertens. He is equally at home playing classical music for the ceremony, pop jazz for the cocktail and dinner hour, and the vast amount of styles for dance music from the past 60 years. Scott has an intuitive feel for every style of music, coupled with a technical skill on keyboards, which is remarkable.

Greg Brucker has probably played more dance music in Chicago than any member of The Nightshift Orchestra. He began playing in bands and orchestras in his teens, and continued to work as a full-time musician with many musical projects. His background includes live performance, playing on commercials, performing with many celebrities, recording engineer, composer, and producer. Greg is wonderful musician, an outstanding singer, and a very appreciated member of the NSO.

John is a very gifted performer in the Nightshift Orchestra playing in the band since 1991. He plays lead trumpet, flugelhorn, sings, and adds a wonderful spark to this theatrical orchestra. With his degrees from Florida State in music education, he has traveled the country with touring show bands, playing countless clubs and concert halls. Due to his show band experience, he has developed a wonderful stage personality, which every audience enjoys.
Scott is a musician, educator, clinician, composer, arranger, a terrific sax player and a very nice guy. A native of Pittsburgh, he has developed so many skills, starting with receiving his Master’s from Northern Illinois University’s outstanding music program. He has performed with legendary jazz masters i.e. Louis Bellson, Clark Terry, Jon Faddis and Tom Scott. He brilliantly plays soprano sax, alto sax, tenor sax, and flute, always demonstrating tremendous versatility and style since 1993.
Terry has been masterfully running sound for the Nightshift Orchestra for 18 years. His trademark is keeping the entire band completely balanced, never too loud, and always tastefull. Terry has extensive experience in every major venue in the Chicagoland area, including The Allstate Arena, The United Center, Aire Crown, The Chicago Theater, Navy Pier, and virtually every hotel, country club, and banquet hall. He is familiar with the specific details of load in and set up in every venue.
